After spending the previous weekend in Jakarta, I had the opportunity to bounce over to Bali and check out the island. Unfortunately, I only had two days to explore. Although Bali is part of the same country that I currently reside in, it feels like a world away. Between the beauty and mystery of the island, I definitely plan to visit again.

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud was our first destination. You can get right up close to the monkeys that roam freely, but beware, they are clever little thieves! They will unzip your backpack to get at the food inside and take the sunglasses right off the top of your head.

We spent the remainder of our trip in various temples around the Ubud area.
